Make an Operation

Goal: Build a multi-step operation, such as a haul job or a series of routes, from a preset or from scratch.

Before you begin

  • You need permission to create operations (typically Fleet Planner or Fleet Manager).
  • Deploy the features your operation references (queues, load and dump locations, routes, fields) first. See Deploy features to a robot. Only saved features can be selected in the designer.

Steps

  1. In the top navigation, click PathLab.
  2. On the toolbar, click Make Operation. The operation designer opens.
  3. In Operation Name, enter a name.
  4. Choose a preset for the kind of job:
    • Haul Job — a pickup → transport → dump cycle.
    • Series of Routes — an ordered sequence of stops.
    • Charge / Refuel — send robots to chargers or fuel stations.
    • Field Rows Coverage — cover one or more field areas.
    • Advanced — build the steps yourself.
    • None — save a blank placeholder.
  5. Fill in the preset's fields. For a Haul Job, set the Queue Location, an optional Load Location and Maximum Loads, the routes to and from the dump, and the Dump Location with its limits and spacing.
  6. Choose the robots — either by required capability or by selecting specific robots.
  7. (Optional) Add Prerequisites (battery, fuel, or GPS conditions) a robot must meet before it takes a step.
  8. Click Save.

The operation now appears in the Operations panel, where you track and control it with Stop, Resume, Stop & Reset, Schedule…, and more.
